NEW HEALTHY CAFE COMING TO COMFORT
Shelby’s Dae-ly Meals Expands After 10 Years

If you’ve been to the Boerne Farmers Market on Tuesdays, you’ve probably seen Shelby’s Dae-ly Meals. For a decade, she’s been serving Boerne with meal prep, catering, and some of the best sourdough baked goods around.
Now, she’s taking things a step further with a brand-new sit-down café in Comfort.
The menu will feature fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches (yes, on her homemade sourdough), plus baked goods, pressed organic juices, coffee, and grab-and-go casseroles for easy dinners.
The café will be open Wednesday–Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm inside Shopping with Siobhain’s Downright Comfort Antique Store, 205 TX-27 in Comfort. Don’t miss the soft opening set for Wednesday, August 27 — mark your calendars!
It’s also worth mentioning, Shelby did a lot to help feed people during the aftermath of the tragic floods, including being part of a team of 15 volunteers that served over 3,000 meals to the community, raised funds, delivered snacks, and more. Let’s support a local business that gives back!

A while back, we had a mobile mechanic come to our house to do some work on our car, and let's just say things didn't go as planned. When all was said and done, pretty much every light was lit up on our dashboard. 🙄
That’s when we decided to try ULTRACARS Motor Sports here in Boerne.
They quickly found the real issue — a backward-installed wheel bearing from that mobile mechanic. Yes... the previous mechanic installed it backwards.🤦
ULTRACARS not only fixed it (and replaced some worn spark plugs too) but got everything running perfectly again.
If you have any issues, whether you're driving a Honda CRV or a Lambo, this is your spot. They do it all!

BOERNE’S NEW ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION
Ribbon Cutting Today with the City of Boerne

Did you know there’s a new EV charging station at the back of the parking lot behind the Visitor Center right off Main Street? Today at 10:30 AM, the City of Boerne will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the project.
If you’re looking to use the charge station though, hold off. They’re still awaiting one part to be shipped to put the finishing touches on the project and get it fully functional. That should be completed in early September - we’ll let you know when we find out for sure.

Convenient Location and Special Discount for Our Readers

Ministry of Dance is expanding! Known for their adult dance classes just off Main Street, they’re now opening a dedicated kids’ dance school in the spot formerly home to Boerne Post Haus.
The new youth program is launching and features classes for ages 3 and up, including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, pom, acro/tumbling, and more—taught by highly experienced instructors. 🩰
This marks a big step for one of Boerne’s most popular dance studios, and a new opportunity for local kids to shine on stage.
Kids can try a class for free. But the best part? We're partnering with them to get your kids a 10% discount. Just tell them The Boerne Life sent you and savings UNLOCKED!

Northside Community Park Closing for Construction 🚧
Northside Community Park — including the skate park, restroom, and fields — will close to the public starting Friday, August 22, as crews prepare the site for construction on the new $16.5 million project.
The nearly 40-acre park is part of the 2022 Bond Program and will bring an all-abilities playscape, multi-use sports fields with lights, a dog park, pickleball courts, a splashpad, and more. It’s another big step in Boerne’s growing parks system, following recent upgrades at River Road Park and new pickleball courts at City Park.
We’re super excited for this project and will let you know more info on the groundbreaking coming up!
Rabies Case Confirmed in Fair Oaks Ranch ⚠️
Animal Services confirmed a positive rabies test in a skunk removed near the Cibolo Trail entrance in Fair Oaks Ranch. While not uncommon in summer months, officials are reminding residents to stay cautious.
Keep pets’ rabies vaccinations up to date, avoid contact with wild animals, and check yards before letting pets outside. If bitten or scratched, wash the wound with soap and water immediately and seek medical attention. Suspected rabid animals or bites should be reported to Fair Oaks Ranch Animal Control at 830-249-8645.
