Live! at the Library is returning next month after taking a break this past spring. The free concert series will be back at the library amphitheater on October 15 at 7 PM, with the Marcy Grace Band taking the stage.

Congrats to Boerne High School for defeating Alamo Heights 38-31 last night. Congrats to Champion for another dominant victory, 61-32. Both teams have a perfect record, 5-0!

Keep an eye on the sky tonight! The Harvest Moon will rise over Boerne after sunset and may look especially large and golden near the horizon thanks to an optical effect known as the “moon illusion.”

BOERNE EARNS IMPROVED FEMA FLOOD RATING

The City of Boerne has received an improved FEMA Community Rating System classification, recognizing its efforts to go beyond federal requirements for managing flood risk and preparing for future flooding.

The new rating also has implications for Boerne property owners with flood insurance. The City has more information on what the change means and the work behind the improved rating.

There’s finally a clearer timeline for one of the next visible steps toward the future Boerne Buc-ee’s. Plans for the Buc-ee’s Way road extension have been approved, a contractor is in place, and Buc-ee’s has a pre-construction meeting scheduled for October 21.

The roadway will eventually connect the I-10 frontage road to the future Buc-ee’s site, but this timeline is for the road, not construction of the building itself. Buc-ee’s currently lists Boerne among its locations expected to open in 2027.
