Fair Oaks Ranch is about to welcome a brand-new dining destination: Cinco de Mayo Restaurant. The $1.5 million project recently broke ground at Leslie Pfeiffer Road off the I-10 service road, just south of the main Fair Oaks Ranch entrance and right next to the new Velocity Country Store & Meat Market (which had its grand re-opening yesterday).

Once complete, it will bring another lively option for Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine to the I-10 corridor, joining nearby favorites like Snowflake Donuts, Fair Oaks Roost, and Big Country Liquor.

THROWBACK THURSDAY
Today’s throwback goes back all the way to when I was in elementary school and this author came to visit my classroom. She wrote this incredible story about a family who traveled from Germany in the mid-1800s to settle in the Texas Hill Country.
The difficulty of the journey really left an impression on me. Still remember the author reception we had for her—she even signed my copy! So glad I found this looking through my old books. if you’re interested, you can learn more about this author here.
