Carl’s Cleaners, which has served the Boerne area since 1987, is closing its Boerne location on September 25. The closure comes as the company shuts down all four of its locations, with staff not providing a reason for the decision.
The location is now open for pickups only, and Carl’s is no longer accepting new drop-offs. If you have clothing or other items still there, make sure to pick them up before the September 25 closing date.

Coley’s Foods has made the Top 10 in H-E-B’s 2026 Quest for Texas Best, putting the Boerne-based company in the running for a share of $100,000 in prizes. The company started just over a year ago from an idea in its founder’s kitchen.
Coley’s developed a ready-to-bake chocolate chip cookie dough that is gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined-sugar-free. On October 8, the company will head to San Antonio to pitch to H-E-B judges, with the Grand Prize winner receiving $50,000 and placement on H-E-B shelves.

BOERNE ADDS A NEW WAY TO HELP LOST PETS GET HOME
A new public microchip scanning station is now available outside the Boerne Police Department near the Patrick Heath Public Library book drop-off. The free, self-service station lets residents scan found pets for microchips anytime, helping connect them with their families. Find out more
BOERNE ISD ADOPTS A SLIGHTLY LOWER TAX RATE
Boerne ISD has adopted a 2026-27 tax rate of $1.0065, a decrease of $0.0044 from last year. The district is also launching a monthly “Dollars and Sense” series, with the first session scheduled for September 29 at 6 PM. Learn more

The 2nd Annual Vintage Flea at The 8th Street Market is bringing vendors from across the region to Comfort this September. Browse vintage finds, antiques, home décor, collectibles, handmade goods, clothing, and one-of-a-kind treasures all in one place.
The fun starts with VIP Night on Thursday, September 24, from 6–8 PM, followed by the main Vintage Flea September 25–26 from 9 AM–5 PM. Vendor spots are also available for those looking to sell their own unique finds.

The Boerne Concert Band is bringing an afternoon of Latin music to the Boerne High School auditorium on Sunday, October 4. The free concert starts at 4 PM and features a lineup of pieces including Malagueña, Bolero, Siboney, Fandango, Blue Tango, and more.
The performance is also part of the band’s continued celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. It’s a chance to enjoy an afternoon of live music right here in Boerne without an admission fee.
The Character Haus is looking for new performers to join its cast of fairytale characters for birthday parties, story times, and children’s events around the area. Performers are preferably 5’6” to 6’ tall with musical theater experience, improv skills, and experience working with children.
Reliable transportation and the ability to provide your own makeup are also required. If you’ve seen Character Haus performers around town, this could be your chance to join the cast. They’re currently accepting headshots and resumes at [email protected].
