THIS CHAPTER OF LONGBRANCH SALOON IS ENDING
A local fixture looks for its next steward

After three decades at the helm of Longbranch Saloon, the owner says itâs time to retire, and hopes a local buyer will keep the 50+ year Boerne tradition alive at 817 N Main. Rising costs have squeezed many small businesses, but the vision is simple: keep Longbranch the hometown watering hole where the community gathers, celebrates, and grieves together.
Thereâs no official closing date yet. In the meantime, the regulars can still count on karaoke on Friday nights and free pool/jukebox on Saturdays. Interested parties can contact Catherine Bentley at 210-204-4855 to discuss the sale and the future of the space.

WHEN YOUR COFFEE MAKER RUNS SLOW, DONâT BLAME THE BEANS â
Every morning, thousands of Boerne Life readers start their day with coffee and this newsletter. But if your coffee maker is running slow, itâs probably not the beans â itâs the water.
Hard water can shorten the life of your appliances⊠weâve thrown away a few coffeemakers ourselves. Thatâs where Aqua-Man Water Conditioning comes in.
For over 30 years, this locally owned company has been Boerneâs go-to for water softeners, advanced filtration, and custom solutions that keep homes running smoothly. They even service nearly every major brand. The results? Longer-lasting appliances, better-tasting water, and softer skin.

MASTER CRAFTSMANSHIP, MUSEUM-QUALITY RESULTS âš

When you see the world-class work coming from Texas Treasures Frame Shop & Gallery, youâll see why Boerne trusts Johny Rosa and his team with their most meaningful projects. Every frame is built by hand, with over 2,000 design options and more than 70 years of combined experience guiding each piece.
From honoring veterans with custom displays, to preserving heirlooms like a great-grandfatherâs firearm, to stretching and framing an oversized canvas that wouldnât even fit in the clientâs car â no project is too unique.
Sean and Gwen, their skilled framers, bring passion and precision whether itâs a shadowbox, a 3D zebra mount, or family keepsakes.
And when itâs time to bring that masterpiece home, they donât just hand it over... theyâll deliver and install it for you too if you'd like. đŒïž
Weâre proud to partner with Johny and his team to present their brand of skilled craftsmanship and old-fashioned customer service to Kendall County.

BOERNE HISTORY

At the turn of the 20th century, the Metropolitan Saloon at 101 S. Main Street was one of Boerneâs busiest hubs. Owned and operated by entrepreneur Max Beseler, the venue hosted theater productions, concerts, dances, and more â a true gathering place for the community.
Beseler eventually sold the saloon to Rudolph Ort, but the buildingâs run ended in tragedy when it burned down in 1908. Today, the site is home to Black Rifle Coffee Company, but pieces of the past still remain â including Max Beselerâs original bar, which quietly lives on in Boerne.
Where Can You See the Original Beseler Bar in BoerneThe actual bar is still in use... where? |
