See What You Have to Look Forward to the Next few Months
There's nothing quite like a small town parade. And Boerne has plenty of them. Since we live downtown, we do our best to make it to as many as possible every year. The candy, the music, the smiles... it's really hard to beat.
In this guide, we'll take a look at all the Boerne parades put on throughout the year, and give you some tips on how to have the best time possible. So read on to plan ahead!

đ LEMONADE FOR A CAUSE AT FABRA ELEMENTARY

Fabra Elementary hosted a sweet Hill Country Flood Benefit yesterday, with a lemonade stand run by PTO members, staff, and student volunteers. Every dollar raised will support local first responders helping with flood recovery efforts. Kids also made thank-you posters â a heartfelt touch to honor our heroes. Now thatâs The Boerne Life.
Wish we would have known about it earlier so we could have told you about it in the newsletter yesterday! But regardless, we wanted to highlight a cool fundraiser by the kids!

đ„ Burn Ban Lifted in Parts of Kendall County
As of August 5, outdoor burning is allowed in areas of Kendall County that were not impacted by the July 4 flood. The ban remains in effect for all land between the highwater marks of the Guadalupe River and its floodway. Burning is limited to natural materials like trees, grass, and brush, and must follow strict weather and safety conditions. Fires must be out by sunset, and violations carry fines up to $500. Official details here.
đŠ« Residents Express Concern Over Buc-eeâs at Planning and Zoning Meeting
At the August 4 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, Buc-eeâs wasnât on the official agendaâbut that didnât stop residents from sharing strong concerns during the public comment period. One speaker voiced unease about the scale of the proposed development, raising issues like traffic, light pollution, safety, and the broader environmental impact. The resident emphasized Boerneâs dark sky values and cautioned that an influx of jobs could draw employees away from small local businesses.
Buc-eeâs approval for rezoning to add more parking was expected last month but was postponed. It still hasnât returned to the agenda, and visible work at the site appears to have stalled. While itâs been nearly a decade since the Buc-eeâs in Boerne was first announced, the project has faced multiple delays. The City continues to invite public input as community members express mixed reactions to how such a large-scale development might affect Boerneâs character.
