Boerne’s business scene is always changing, and several familiar names have recently closed or moved out of their locations. We’re breaking down what happened with El Botero, Gruene Botanicals, Painted Pottery, Lulu’s Tea House, and The Bank & Trust.
Some closures have clear explanations, while others remain a little more uncertain. We’re also taking a look at another local shop that’s asking the community for support.

Black Board Bar B Q is open Saturday and Sunday, making this weekend a pretty great excuse to take a quick drive out to Sisterdale. Think fork-tender brisket, fall-off-the-bone ribs, delicious sides, and those famous burnt ends.
Located at 1123 Sisterdale Rd, Black Board is open Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM–4 PM. They’re also known for Thursday Burger Night, but this weekend is all about the BBQ.

Kids can also look forward to a new No Tech Tuesday program and more activities throughout the fall.

Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club has officially switched to beef tallow for all fried foods in the kitchen. It’s a simple, traditional change that brings a little something extra to the club’s favorite fried dishes.
And if you’ve been curious about what life is like at the Club beyond the golf course, this is a good excuse to take a closer look. Enjoy the dining, amenities, and community while seeing what membership is all about.
