Boerne’s coffee scene is changing, and three projects we’ve been watching are finally giving us some answers. One proposed Starbucks appears to be off the table, 7 Brew is planned for South Main Street, and Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii has officially put up its sign at Boerne Town Center.

The Oak of Boerne is a private social club for men and women with cocktails, live music, pool, events, networking, and plenty of space to kick back. The massive oak tree, string lights, and outdoor patio make it a pretty unique spot to spend an evening.
Curious what it’s actually like inside? Stop by for a tour, grab a day pass, and check out the patio for yourself. Tell them The Boerne Life sent you!

After an incredible run at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Boerne’s All Stars are coming home Wednesday. The community is invited to line Main Street and cheer them on during a police, fire, and Cavender Chevrolet procession beginning around 5:45 PM.
The route will travel from Johns Road to River Road and back up Main Street before ending at Main Plaza. Break out your orange and yellow and find a spot along the Hill Country Mile to give the team a proper hometown welcome.

DOES YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE PAY YOU BACK?

Our Texas Hill Country partner Penn Mallery helps Kerrville residents find custom PPO plans with nationwide networks, plus optional dental and vision coverage, all designed to fit your needs.
In fact, he handles our health insurance. And here's one of the coolest parts...
When you have a covered service like doc visit or procedure, the plans pay a benefit amount and the PPO provider discount.
So, if those are greater than services rendered policy holder receives the difference as a check in the mail! A few bucks back here and there can make a big difference!
Remember, health insurance doesn’t have to be a one-size-fits-all decision. Give Penn a call and see if he can customize a plan that works for your situation!

Disclaimer: we are not health insurance experts, and we don't guarantee your experience will be the same as ours. That said, you can give Penn a call and discuss what he can do for you! This is an advertisement.

El Botero Tapas & Wine Bar has officially closed its doors at 161 S. Main Street. The longtime Main Street space is now up for lease.
It’s another change for the downtown dining scene, and it’ll be interesting to see what eventually takes over the space.

WAYBACK WEDNESDAY
The parking lot and public restrooms behind Main Plaza look pretty ordinary today, but this spot once housed Boerne’s first waterworks, firehouse, and public library.
There was even a public swimming pool behind the building until a new pool opened at City Park around 1973. The original building was torn down in 2004.
