Downtown Boerne is about to welcome another dining option. Aroi Thai & Sushi will officially open on Friday, July 10, at 248 N. Main St., next to the Boerne Visitor Center.

A proposal discussed at this week's Planning & Zoning meeting could pave the way for Crunch Fitness to open near the south end of Boerne. The request was tabled until next month's meeting while the developer provides additional information requested by the commission.

If approved, it would be an early step toward bringing the popular gym chain—known for its affordable memberships, group fitness classes, and childcare—to the area near Boerne Town Center.

Last night, the Historic Landmark Commission approved the demolition request for the buildings at 302–323 North Main, clearing the way for the project to move forward after weeks of community discussion.

During the meeting, the project architect shared that the property owner hopes to donate the iconic Red Crest sign to the City of Boerne for restoration, with one concept placing it across the street near the Visitor Center. No final decision has been made on the sign's future location.
