TRAVEL + LEISURE RECENTLY CALLED BOERNE THE MOST "UNDERRATED" TOWN IN THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY

In a recent feature, Travel + Leisure highlighted Boerne's small-town charm, walkable Hill Country Mile, local restaurants, boutique shopping, beautiful parks, wineries, and attractions like Cave Without a Name as reasons it deserves more attention.

The article also pointed out that Boerne offers a slower pace, a strong sense of community, and a quality of life that's hard to beat.

Whether you're thinking about making Boerne your home or considering selling and taking advantage of the area's continued popularity, our partner Charley Wasson, Realtor with Sunflower Real Estate can help.

As a local real estate expert, Charley knows what makes Boerne so special—and can help you find the right home or navigate selling your current one.

Questions? Call or text Charley at 210-478-8555 or visit his site here.

HAZY SKIES OVER THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY

If you've noticed hazy skies, it’s due to a massive cloud of Saharan dust making its way across the state this week. If you have allergy issues, it’s recommended you stay indoors as much as possible. We believe today should be the worst of it.

The good news is that it should make for a colorful sunset. So look to the sky this evening!

AND THE ANSWER IS…

If you've ever visited Cascade Caverns, you've probably seen Rex the Dinosaur standing near the gift shop.

What many people don't know is that Rex wasn't built for the park.

He was created in 1992 as a movie prop for Disney's Father Hood, starring Patrick Swayze, a portion of which was filmed over several weeks at Cascade Caverns. The movie was released in 1993, the same year Jurassic Park hit theaters.

Made from Styrofoam and plaster, Rex took about three weeks to build. When filming wrapped, Walt Disney Studios donated him to Cascade Caverns, where he's remained ever since.

After years of Texas weather, Rex was fully restored in 2009 and still greets visitors today—more than 30 years after his Hollywood debut.

Next time you're at Cascade Caverns, be sure to say hello to Boerne's own movie star. 🦖
