There’s been a noticeable increase in bird activity around Boerne lately, and if you’ve been hearing those calls over downtown, you’re not imagining it. Ravens are incredibly intelligent birds, and this one even got comfortable posted up on City Hall like it was in charge of the place.

A new sign has popped up at the old Pearl Antler building at 322A Main Street announcing “Grumpy Monkey, Curio & Gifts” coming soon. Details are still limited, but it looks like another new retail addition is headed to downtown Boerne.

More updates are expected once we learn more about what the shop will offer and when it plans to open.

Epicure Gourmet Market, located at 210 S Main, Boerne, TX, has been quietly expanding its deli offerings since moving food service over to its Staffel Street location. What started with grab-and-go sandwiches, then gelato, then coffee has now evolved again with a new addition locals can actually sip on the go.

Their new protein smoothies come in a few solid options, including strawberry with oat milk, hemp seeds, strawberries, and Truvani strawberry protein, chocolate with peanut butter and banana, and a vanilla blend with oat milk, hemp seeds, peanut butter, and Truvani vanilla protein.

With Father’s Day coming up, we’re highlighting local businesses where dads and their kids work side by side, and Couture Floors is a perfect example of that. Founded by longtime Boerne resident Jed Mazour, the business has grown over 20 years into one of the Hill Country’s go-to spots for flooring and home upgrades, now with his son Hunter working full time alongside him.

Construction on the new Panda Express at IH-10 and Christus Parkway is moving along, with current filings estimating completion around the end of October. The location is also actively hiring for management positions as work continues.

It’s one of the more closely watched new restaurant builds in the Boerne area as development continues along the I-10 corridor.

Boerne ISD has approved a new 2026–27 compensation plan that includes pay raises for staff and a new benefit allowing full-time employees to enroll eligible children in district Pre-K at no cost, potentially saving families about $675 per month.

The plan also includes 3.4%+ raises for many experienced educators and 2% raises for other employee groups, as part of a broader effort to improve pay, benefits, and staff retention across the district.
