👉Local Parks Survey + Big Retail Opening

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Good morning, Boerne! Happy Wednesday. The week is half complete, which means Das Festival is almost here. Which reminds us - they just announced they extended the parade float deadline until noon today. So if you’d like to get in on it, this is your sign.

Inside today:

  • Boerne asks residents to help shape parks and green spaces

  • Harbor Freight set to open on North Main

  • Free cakes for a year from Nothing Bundt Cakes?

  • Mai Tai making contest at the tiki bar

And a whole lot more. Let’s get into it!

— Chris

Das Festival of Kendall is back June 19–21, bringing one of Boerne’s most loved Father’s Day weekend traditions to Main Plaza. While the food, drinks, and live music set the tone, the real fun comes from the classic contests and family-friendly activities happening all weekend long.

From dachshund races and watermelon eating contests to sack races, wheelbarrow races, and the Saturday parade, there’s something happening at every turn. It all kicks off Friday with the festival pageant and rolls straight into a full weekend of music, games, and community celebration.

The City of Boerne is asking residents to weigh in on local parks, trails, recreation programs, and future community projects through a new Parks and Recreation survey. Feedback will help guide decisions on everything from park upgrades and trail use to programming and long-term expansion plans across the city.

Residents are encouraged to share which parks they visit most, what improvements they’d like to see, and how often they use current amenities. Input will also help shape future projects like the Northside Community Park expansion, Boerne Cemetery improvements, City Pool updates, and the planned Waterworks Terrace near Main Plaza.

If your home relies on a private well, a water storage tank can make a big difference in protecting your system. It helps reduce strain on your pump, extends its lifespan, and can prevent costly repairs, especially during heavy summer water use. Our local partners at Hammer Next Level Excavation specialize in designing and installing these systems the right way from the start.

Located here in the Hill Country, Hammer Next Level Excavation is a family-owned business run by a veteran firefighter and his family, offering full-service installation including tanks, water lines, and complete system setup tailored to your property’s needs.
