Chef Jacob Williamson Brings Elevated Dining to Boerne

A new development is taking shape on the east side of town, and the groundbreaking ceremony has officially kicked things off. Located at 12 Herff Road, the project—dubbed the Herff & River District—will include two chef-led restaurants and a Kiddie Academy early learning center.

Chef Jacob Williamson, who trained under Wolfgang Puck, is opening a modern steakhouse and a more laid-back concept focused on shareable plates and scratch-made cocktails. We got a look at the plans, toured the property, and more.

The first-ever Texas Hill Country Game Fair is set for June 20–21 at Joshua Creek Ranch, and it’s bringing a full weekend of family-friendly outdoor fun. 🧵 Goodwill Store Proposal Up for Discussion

The City of Boerne’s Planning Department is hosting a Boerne Neighborhood Discussion via Zoom on Tuesday, June 17 at 5:30 pm to review a proposed Special Use Permit. The request involves allowing a new Goodwill thrift store to open at 1030 N Main St.—right next to the future O’Reilly Auto Parts in the Live Oak Shopping Center.

This is the first step in Goodwill trying to get approval. From here it would go before the Planning and Zoning Commission, then City Council.

Goodwill has tried to come to Boerne before, but the proposal was shut down for various reasons. With so many local thrift stores supporting charitable missions, there have been concerns on how a Goodwill could impact local charities.
