Boerne is packed with great playgrounds, whether you're looking for shaded park spots, natural playscapes, or restaurants where kids can play while you eat. From Boerne Library’s popular playground and Kinder Park’s giant slide to Greenman’s Lookout at Cibolo Nature Center and indoor options like Arrows Play Park, there’s no shortage of places for kids to burn energy.
Several local restaurants also make family outings easier, with playgrounds at spots like Selah Cafe, El Chaparral, and N’s Thai Food, plus indoor options like Burger King and The Play Patch for rainy or hot days. It’s a simple reminder that in Boerne, family-friendly really means everywhere.

To make way for construction, Cypress Grille will be temporarily closed from June 14–18. More details are expected soon as the project comes together.

GREAT FOOD, GREAT COMPANY, GREAT NIGHT AT INDULGE WINE BAR
We had a great time at the Boerne Chamber of Commerce mixer hosted at Indulge Wine Bar at 21 Truss Dr, and it’s easy to see why this spot is becoming a local favorite. From a welcoming atmosphere to solid food and drinks, it’s the kind of place that fits perfectly into a relaxed night out on the east side of town.

Herff Farm is kicking off summer with one of its biggest Nature Makers events yet: Farmyard Wizards on June 13. Kids will plant “magic beans” to take home, learn about the plant life cycle, and enjoy a mix of hands-on nature activities throughout the Teaching Gardens.
The event will also feature a professional magician along with performances from young local magicians, creating a fun blend of science, storytelling, and a little bit of wonder across the farm.

PET SHOP BUILDING DEMO APPROVAL PAUSE

According to The Boerne Star, the future of the building that houses Red Crest Pet Shop and Boerne Grooming isn't settled just yet.
After the Historical Landmark Commission voted 3-3 on a demolition request earlier this month, many believed the tie vote cleared the way for demolition. According to city officials, that's not the case.
Following a legal review, the City of Boerne determined a tie vote does not constitute approval under the city's development code. As a result, the demolition permit has not been approved and the matter could return to the Historical Landmark Commission on July 7.
The building at 305-323 N. Main Street is part of a proposed redevelopment project known as Park Plaza, which would replace the existing structure with a new two-story retail building. Any future development will also require City Council approval. You can read more about it here.
