🏡 MEET LANCE L. LIRA

Your Local Real Estate Expert — And So Much More

Meet our local real estate expert, Lance L. Lira. He’s one of those people who just knows everyone — and if he doesn’t know you yet, give it five minutes!

Whether he’s catching up with folks at the YMCA, chatting with customers at his family’s store, Nature’s Presence, or checking in with band parents at Boerne High, Lance brings that same warmth and genuine care into every conversation — and every real estate deal.

He’s a full-time Keller Williams realtor, longtime Boerne resident, BHS Band Booster president, board member for the 100 Club, and a musician who plays alto sax with the Boerne Jazz Band. Most of all, he’s someone who shows up — for his clients, his community, and his town.

We chose Lance as our local real estate partner because he’s the kind of person who puts service before sales. He listens. He cares. And he knows Boerne like only a longtime resident can.

FREDERICKSBURG GOT A CHICK-FIL-A BEFORE BOERNE

How Does That Make You Feel? 🐄

Perhaps the most common restaurant request we get is Chick-fil-A. And rumors have circulated for years that the chicken sandwich spot would eventually move into our town.

In fact, we even have Chick-fil-A days in many of our schools where it’s brought in from San Antonio. And for a while, Chick-fil-A was sending workers out to various parking lots in town with a canopy and bags of sandwiches to sell!

Well, we had a meeting out in Fredericksburg recently and made a discovery - they got one before us! As you can see in the photo, the landscaping isn’t even finished, but the cars are already lined up.

Turns out this location opened just this last month. Which leads us to ask… 👇

TRANQUIL GARDEN OFF MAIN STREET

And Boerne’s Hard Water

Right between Bear Moon Bakery and Free Roam Brewing sits one of Boerne’s most peaceful hidden gems — a lush, native garden with fountains, flowers, shady seating, and a Little Free Library.

But we used our stroll through this calm corner of Main Street to highlight something a little less serene… Boerne’s hard water. Watch what happens when we fill a cup straight from the garden fountain — the results might surprise you. 👀 (Okay, we may have used a little video trickery 🤣)

Thankfully, our newest partners at Aqua-Man Water Conditioning have been solving water problems in the Hill Country for over 30 years. From water softeners to whole-home filtration, they’re the go-to team for clean, balanced water — without the sediment.

WEATHER FORECAST

We have some more rain today (hopefully) before things clear up. But we don’t think that’s the end of it. In fact, hurricane season starts before you know it, which means we’re all crossing our fingers for more weather to bring more water.

But real quick, let’s talk about storms… when the power flickers or cuts out completely, those sudden returns can send dangerous jolts through your home’s electrical system. That could mean fried appliances, damaged electronics, or worse.

Our partners at Mr. Electric of Boerne can help you prepare before the storm hits. They install whole-home surge protectors, offer outlet-level protection, and even provide free home safety checks during the visit.

Justin Boerner Retires from Historic Landmark Commission

After 16 years of service, Justin Boerner has officially stepped down as chairman of Boerne’s Historic Landmark Commission. A lifelong resident and one of only three people to ever chair the commission, Boerner was honored this week for his commitment to preserving Boerne’s rich architectural and cultural heritage. During his tenure, he helped guide major efforts like the city’s historic district survey in partnership with UTSA.

In his final remarks, Boerner said, “I love this town,” thanking city staff and fellow commissioners for their collaboration. Known for his thoughtful, common-sense approach, Boerner struck a careful balance between preservation and property rights. A new chair has not yet been announced. The commission meets monthly and plays a vital role in protecting Boerne’s historic character.
