👉Cowboy Store + Bee Removal + Pop-Up Market

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Good morning, Boerne. It’s Cinco de Mayo, which means there are a few interesting food and drink specials out there today. Make sure to read through the Boerne buzz section, where we’ll highlight a few of those.

Here’s what else we have for you today:

  • A new store coming to Main Street from Bandera

  • A fascinating bee relocation you don’t see every day

  • A pop-up market taking over a familiar downtown spot

  • 4th grade students at the Kendall County Courthouse

  • Where exactly is the Hill Country Mile?

And a whole lot more. Let’s get into it!

If you’ve spent time in Bandera, you’ve probably come across The Cowboy Store, and now it’s officially heading to Boerne. The new location is taking over the former La Te Da spot on Main Street across the alley from Boerne Grill, and while the windows are still covered, it’s already getting people curious.

No word yet on an exact opening date or what the space will look like inside, but it’s a solid addition to the Hill Country Mile lineup. If it’s anything like their Bandera location, expect a mix of Western goods, gifts, and a little bit of that classic Texas feel.

Everything’s set at The Bevy Hotel Boerne for today’s Boerne Senior Expo, and it’s shaping up to be a great one. From local vendors to health and wellness resources, there’s plenty to explore, plus a free chair Pilates class with Longevity Pilates and even a little BINGO fun mixed in.

It’s all happening from 9 AM to 3 PM, and tickets are completely free.

Something pretty fascinating happened near City Park yesterday, a large honeybee hive hidden inside a massive oak tree had to be carefully removed. The hive, located in front of the Hill Country Council for the Arts building, was home to thousands of bees.

Because honeybees are essential pollinators, the goal wasn’t removal, it was relocation. Watch what happened and learn a bit more about it.

Behind the scenes at Patrick Heath Public Library, Libby Quintero is helping keep everything moving. As General Services Coordinator, she manages high-volume circulation, supports over 120 volunteers, and plays a key role in serving the library’s nearly 200,000 annual visitors.

She’s also the one who helped grow Book Babies Storytime into one of the library’s most popular programs, and continues to be a big part of what makes the space feel welcoming and community-driven.

DID YOU KNOW?

There are two seemingly random lines of brick pavers on across Main Street: one on North Main near Main Street Carwash and the other on South Main near Edward Jones.

But they aren't actually random at all. Fun fact, these two paver sections are the borders of The Hill Country Mile.
