Every parent knows the feeling. It's the weekend, your child spikes a fever, isn't acting like themselves, and suddenly you're trying to figure out whether it's something that can wait or if it's time for an expensive trip to the ER.
That's exactly why so many local families are turning to Platinum Pediatrics. Led by Dr. Mark Rodkey, a board-certified physician in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine with more than 30 years of experience, their direct care model gives parents access to guidance through phone calls, text messages, telemedicine, and office visits when those unexpected situations pop up.

If you regularly drive Highway 46 West between Boerne and Bandera County, you'll likely start noticing changes this summer. According to reporting from the Boerne Star, TxDOT is moving forward with several safety improvements following concerns about serious accidents and fatalities along the roadway.
The initial upgrades will include centerline rumble strips, additional warning signs, improved pavement markings, and more visible no-passing zones. Officials say speeding has been a major factor in many crashes, and the road is handling traffic conditions beyond what it was originally designed for. Larger improvements could eventually include turn lanes, barriers, and more significant roadway redesigns, though those projects would take considerably longer.

Our partners at Elite Exterminating are currently out in Pipe Creek performing a full structural fumigation at Phantom Falls Ranch to eliminate a drywood termite and powder post beetle infestation.
These specialized fumigations allow treatment to reach deep into the wood where termites live and spread — and Elite is one of only a handful of companies licensed to perform this type of work across Texas.
And around the Hill Country, termite issues are more common than many people realize thanks to all the beautiful wooded properties and oak trees termites love.
If you’ve noticed wood damage, tiny pellet droppings, or recurring termite problems, it may be worth getting things checked professionally.

One of our favorite small-town experiences returns next Tuesday as Abendkonzerte brings the Boerne Village Band back to Main Plaza. For generations, locals have gathered with lawn chairs, friends, and family to enjoy traditional German music under the Texas sky.
The free concerts begin at 7:30 pm and take place on select Tuesdays throughout the summer. There’s just something special about sitting in the heart of downtown Boerne listening to live music while catching up with neighbors. It feels like the kind of tradition that makes Boerne, Boerne.

Honda of Boerne is getting closer to opening, and the dealership has officially started hiring as construction continues to move forward. The new location is slated to open in September 2026 and is already taking shape along I-10.
Owned by the Pohanka Automotive Group, a family-owned company that's been in business since 1919, Honda of Boerne is currently hiring across multiple departments as they build their local team ahead of opening day.

This past Wednesday, 120 people spread out across a dozen local restaurants for The Boerne Life Dinner Club before gathering together afterward at Twelve to Twelve. Judging by the feedback, the event delivered exactly what people were hoping for: great conversations, new connections, and support for local businesses.
Comments included things like "Boerne needed this," "This is how you build a community," and "I've already hung out with people I met at last month's Dinner Club." The June event is already open for registration, and if last night was any indication, spots probably won't stay available for long.

After months of anticipation, the Love Kendall County Kids Community Cookbook is finally here. Featuring more than 150 recipes shared by local families and businesses, along with artwork created by local young artists, this cookbook is packed with community favorites and family traditions.
