IN PARTNERSHIP WITH
Good morning, Boerne. How tired are you from staying up late for that Spurs game?! Don’t worry, we’ll keep this short and sweet so you don’t doze off reading.
Here’s what we have today:
Firehouse Subs appears to be headed to South Main
Chicken Salad Chick pushed back its Boerne opening date
Monkee’s of Fair Oaks just became VERY visible from I-10
Champion High advances in the baseball playoffs
And a whole lot more. Let’s get into it!

Indulge Wine Bar is hosting an evening of vintage jazz with the super popular Faith Evangeline this Friday, bringing together beautiful vocals, great wine, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you accidentally stay out longer than planned.
If your idea of a good night involves relaxing music, a solid glass of wine, and not rushing through the evening, this one sounds worth adding to the calendar.

It looks like Boerne may officially be getting a new sandwich spot. After GameStop near Walmart closed earlier this year, rumors started flying about what would replace it, and now the City of Boerne says permits are currently being reviewed for a future Firehouse Subs location.
If approved, the restaurant would move into the former GameStop space at 1375 S Main St next to StretchLab and Domino’s. Safe to say South Main’s food lineup just keeps growing.

Platinum Pediatrics is a pediatric practice tucked off South School Street led by Dr. Mark Rodkey, Boerne’s only board-certified Pediatric Emergency Physician. With more than 30 years of experience in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine, the practice gives local families another option when a fever spikes late at night and you’re debating whether it’s serious enough for the ER.
Their direct care membership model includes office visits, phone access, texting, and telemedicine support, helping families take a more proactive approach to care instead of waiting until things escalate.

Chicken Salad Chick officially moved its Boerne grand opening from May 20 to June 3 as the team finishes final preparations at the new location off I-10. The good news? The giveaways are still on, including free chicken salad for a year for the first 100 guests in line on opening day.
They’ll also be handing out towels, pet bowls, bandanas, and insulated totes throughout opening week. Judging by the hype already building, expect a crowd.

Das Festival of Kendall is officially gearing up for Father’s Day Weekend, and they’re looking for volunteers to help bring one of Boerne’s biggest annual events to life. From pouring beer in Main Plaza and helping with dachshund races to assisting with the parade, ticket sales, egg tosses, and wheelbarrow races, there are plenty of ways to jump in and be part of the fun.
The festival is the biggest celebration of Boerne’s German heritage all year. Plus, volunteering is honestly one of the fastest ways to meet people around town.

Monkee’s of Fair Oaks officially crossed into “very hard to miss” territory after their sign and bright pink storefront windows went up this week along I-10. And apparently they’re not stopping there, because a billboard is now going up next week in Kendall County too.
Even better, the first person who spots the billboard after it goes up, and sends a photo to Monkee’s on Instagram, gets a custom Stanley and other swag. Competitive scavenger hunt energy officially activated.
