👉Margaritas + Ghost Town

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Good Morning! Last night we had the first ever Boerne Life Dinner Club, and it was AWESOME. But don’t take my word for it - watch the roundup here!

Here’s what we have for you today:

  • Where to grab the best margaritas in Boerne

  • A full weekend of live music across the Mile

  • A standout student achievement worth celebrating

  • A ghost town right down the road

And a whole lot more. Let’s get into it!

Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner, and Boerne’s margarita scene has seriously leveled up. What used to be mostly classic Tex-Mex spots has turned into a mix of creative cocktails, elevated flavors, and solid traditional options across town.

We put together a guide for Visit Boerne featuring some of our favorite margarita spots in town.

Burger Night and Open Mic are back tonight at Black Board Bar B Q from 5–8 PM, bringing together a scenic Hill Country drive, live music, and burgers that absolutely deliver. It’s the kind of easygoing night that just feels right.

Show up hungry, because you won’t be leaving that way.

Music on the Mile is back this Saturday and Sunday, bringing nearly three dozen artists to 13 different venues across the Hill Country Mile. What started as a simple idea has grown into one of Boerne’s signature events, turning downtown into a full-on live music experience.

You can wander from spot to spot, catching different acts throughout the day at places like breweries, restaurants, and shops. With a lineup of 35 performers, it’s the kind of weekend where you don’t need a plan, just show up and follow the music.

GRADUATION SEASON IS HERE

If you’ve got a graduate in your life, don’t let that diploma end up sitting in a drawer.

Our partners at Texas Treasures Frame Shop & Gallery are running a graduation framing sale right now—with up to 75% off select in-stock molding, glass, and matting.

We’re talking museum-quality framing, built by hand, whether it’s a diploma, graduation stole, jersey, or a full shadow box for athletes and cheerleaders.

They’ve been doing this in Boerne for years, and it shows in the detail.

The sale runs through the end of June, but graduation season sneaks up quick. Visit them at 233 S Main St D or call 830-816-5335.

Health insurance costs are taking a bigger bite out of family budgets across Texas. Recent data shows families are spending an average of 10.9% of their household income — more than $11,000 a year — on employer-sponsored premiums and deductibles alone, and that doesn’t even include copays or other out-of-pocket costs.

If that sounds familiar, it may be time to explore other options. Boerne-based health insurance expert Penn Mallery helps families and small business owners find custom PPO plans designed around real needs and realistic budgets instead of one-size-fits-all coverage.

Alyssa Stewart, a student at Boerne Middle School North, has been selected for the highly competitive U.S. Naval Academy Summer STEM Program, an opportunity only a small percentage of applicants nationwide receive. She’ll get hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering, and math at one of the country’s top institutions.

Outside the classroom, she’s already deeply involved in the community, from Student Council leadership to orchestra and scouting. It’s the kind of accomplishment that deserves a spotlight.

Just outside Boerne near Pipe Creek sits Polly, Texas, a nearly forgotten settlement with deep roots in Hill Country history. Founded by José Policarpio “Polly” Rodriguez, a respected Tejano frontiersman and minister, the town once centered around Polly’s Chapel, built in 1882 and still standing today.

If you’re up for a short drive and something different, this is one of those hidden spots worth checking out.

THROWBACK THURSDAY

The Boerne Fire Department has been serving the community since the early 1900s, and this Saturday is your chance to see that legacy up close. The Open House on May 2 from 10 AM to 2 PM at 726 N Main Street offers a behind-the-scenes look at the station and the people who keep Boerne safe.

Expect firefighter meet-and-greets, station tours, hands-on activities, and plenty of fire safety tips for all ages. It’s an easy, family-friendly way to spend part of your day while learning something useful.
