CHIPOTLE IN BOERNE? NOT SO FAST 🌯

Here’s What Happened…

Last week, a site plan for the new Starbucks on Herff Road included a Chipotle next door — but we followed up with the city and got an official update on where things stand.

Plus: if you’re craving a big burrito, we’ve got a great local alternative you might not know about. 💎

MAY GOAT YOGA ALREADY SOLD OUT 🐐🧘‍♀️

Get Tickets for June or July While You Still Can

The May 3 session of Goat Yoga at Herff Farm is already sold out… and it's no surprise why. These one-of-a-kind Yin Yoga classes with baby goats are equal parts therapeutic and adorable — and spots disappear fast.

If you want in, grab your tickets now for the next sessions on June 7 or July 12 before they vanish too. Each class is led by Lilly of Pipe Creek Soap Company and blends pain-relief-focused yoga with cuddly goat time in a beautiful farm setting.

EARLY VOTING STARTS TODAY

And Runs through April 28th

Early voting for the May 3rd special election starts today!

On the ballot is a mayoral race, city council races, and school board elections.

On top of that, Boerne voters will decide on Measure A, which could extend mayor and city council terms from two years to three years.

The idea? Give our city leaders more time to settle into their roles without the constant cycle of campaigning. This change wouldn’t take effect until 2026, with staggered elections to keep things balanced. You can learn more about this measure here.

JACKSON FOUND A HOME 🐶

More Dogs Are Waiting at Boerne Animal Care Services

We have a wonderful story for you. Recently, the City of Boerne formed a partnership with us to help get some of the dogs adopted out who are currently in the shelter at Animal Care Services.

So we went and met some of the pups and took some video. Jackson, featured in the video above, really caught our eye. He had been in the shelter longer than most of the other dogs, and he was a real sweetheart.

But we just adopted a dog a month or so back, so we couldn’t give him a home. So, we made a video about him and posted it. And you’ll never guess what happened next…

Within two hours of us posting the video, Jackson found a home! 🤯 And while we are thrilled, our work here is just beginning.

The Animal Care Services shelter is almost full. And there are a lot of sweet dogs. So if you have even KIND OF considered getting a new dog, THIS IS YOUR SIGN. Mention The Boerne Life and get 10% off fees!

WEATHER FORECAST

Rain is finally in the forecast — and while most of us are just grateful for it, our partners at Hammer Next Level Excavation see something more: opportunity. A single inch of rain on a 1,000 sq ft roof can yield 600 gallons of water. That adds up fast — and with the right setup, you can save all that water for future use.

Hammer is a family-run, firefighter-owned Boerne business specializing in rainwater capture systems, storage tanks, trenching, and more. Plus, the City of Boerne offers a $150 rebate for installing a system. Ready to catch the rain? 📞 Call 210-846-4135 or visit hnlexcavation.com
