šŸ‘‰ New ER Breaks Ground + Zoning Meeting Worth Watching

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Good morning, Boerne. This is The Boerne Life, the newsletter that really wants to wish you a happy Tax Day, but let’s be honest… who is actually happy about paying taxes?! 🤣

In today’s newsletter, we have:

  • Burger King offering a one cent burger all week for Tax Day (okay, that might make for a happy Tax Day)

  • New ER breaking ground in Boerne

  • A neighborhood zoning meeting you might want to attend

  • What’s happening today

  • The Richter received a very old gift

And more. All right, here we go!

šŸ” GET A BURGER FOR ONE CENT ALL WEEK

Burger King’s Tax Day Deal Is Just Too Good

If doing your taxes has you stressed out, Burger King is coming to the rescue with a deal that’s hard to beat. This week only, Royal Perks members can get a regular cheeseburger for just 1 cent when placing an order of $1 or more through the Burger King app or website.

That’s right—just a penny for a classic flame-grilled cheeseburger with pickles, ketchup, mustard, and melted cheese. Grab a soda, a side of Cheesy Tots, or anything else on the menu to get over a dollar and unlock the deal while it lasts.

The main catch here is you have to order it online or through the app before you pick it up. So you can’t go in the store and order.

šŸ„ NEW EMERGENCY ROOM COMING TO BOERNE

BoERne Breaks Ground

We spent yesterday afternoon at the groundbreaking for Boerne Emergency Room — a brand-new 24/7 ER set to open later this year at the corner of Herff Rd and Gallant Fox.

The facility will be staffed by four Board-Certified Emergency Physicians and will bring top-tier care directly to our community. With fast service, hometown convenience, and local ownership, it’s one more reason to feel good about Boerne’s future.

šŸ’§ Extend the Life of Your Well with a Storage Tank

If your home runs on a well, installing a water storage tank isn’t just smart—it’s essential. Instead of your well pump turning on over and over all day, a tank allows it to fill once or twice a day, reducing wear and tear. That means fewer breakdowns, longer equipment life, and serious savings over time—especially in the heat of Texas summers.

Our friends at Hammer Next Level Excavation are the local experts in storage tank systems. They’re a family-owned business run by a Kerrville firefighter, his wife, and their kids, and they’ll walk you through every step—from the tank install to water line trenching and more. They do it right, because they live here too.

WEATHER FORECAST

Okay, today is warm and dry. Again. So, I’d like to mix things up and include a post from Meteorologist Chris Suchan, who is a good follow on Facebook. I think you’ll find this interesting. Here’s what he had to say:

I just love the data trends ahead. Nice signals for breaking free from the nemesis big ridge of high pressure that has been over Texas this week and last week, drying us out and making it like pulling teeth to get clouds, let alone a rain chance.

Mid to upper level flow pattern with energetic subtropical jet pumping into Texas, impulses and disturbances embedded in flow zipping across while instability parameters beef up.

Severe weather season will be cranking last 10 days of April into early May in Texas after a quiet couple of weeks. While there's risk that comes with severe weather, can't argue with the water we could see from rounds of storms ahead in this stretch for aquifers, rivers and our lakes.

šŸŽ¹ A Piece of Boerne History Finds a Home

A beautifully preserved 1850s piano has found a new home at The Richter. The piano once belonged to the Sueltenfuss family and was recently discovered in a barn between Boerne and Comfort.

It now sits just down the stairs from another legendary artifact: The Max Beseler Bar, the second-oldest bar in Texas, carved from cherry wood in 1869. During Prohibition, it even moonlighted as an ice cream counter!
