If you’re up for a quick adventure, Old Baldy Park in Wimberley is one of those spots that delivers big views with minimal time. The hike itself is only about .2 miles, but it’s a straight climb up 218 stone steps that takes you to the top of a 1,182-foot hill overlooking the Hill Country.

Located between San Antonio and Austin, it’s an easy day trip from Boerne and completely free to visit. The City of Wimberley purchased the land in 2015 to protect it from development, so it stays just as scenic and untouched as it should be.
