IN PARTNERSHIP WITH
Good morning, Boerne! Lot of interesting things to share. But first, today is National Cocktail Day. So if you aim to celebrate, might we recommend one of our partners like Indulge over at 21 Truss Dr or Twelve to Twelve in the parking lot next to Pure Country. And don’t forget The Lounge at Valeria Lounge over at 109 Waterview Parkway!
Prefer a non-alcoholic option? Did you know Nature’s Presence has the non-alcoholic, mushroom-based drink cocktails from Shark Tank called Little Saints. We’ve bought them before and they’re pretty good!
Okay, that was a mouthful, so let’s get straight to the stories!

A NEW PROJECT COULD BE COMING TO NORTH MAIN

As reported by The Boerne Star, a new project is being proposed for North Main Street right next to Klein Smokehouse, to replace the building where Red Crest Pet Shop is currently located.
The plan is for a 12,000-square-foot center called Park Plaza, with space for restaurants and retail in a more walkable, courtyard-style setup, as well as various water-saving features. The idea is to bring higher-end concepts to that stretch of Main while keeping the pedestrian-friendly feel the Mile is known for.
There have even been early conversations about possibly bringing Peggy’s on the Green back as part of the development, but nothing is confirmed.
The property has actually been sitting in transition for a while. The old feed store moved out about a year ago, and while spots like Red Crest Pet Store are still there, the building has had a for sale sign up for some time.
Right now, the property is under contract, but hasn’t officially closed yet as of the discussion at the Historic Landmark Committee meeting.
This project would be brought to you by the same owner as the property next door that is being built our as Hill & Bach Cellars. The architect who drew the design you see in the photo is Frank Valadez, who was instrumental in the early stages of planning the Hill Country Mile and designed the bank on the corner there at Main and Johns Road.
Nothing is set in stone and still very early, but this is definitely one to watch as Main Street continues to grow.

Diva Night is back, and the Spring Fling on April 9 is taking over the Hill Country Mile. It’s one of those nights where downtown Boerne fills up with shopping, specials, and a whole lot of energy.
Enrich Health & Wellness will be at Main Plaza as a bag sponsor, and they’re bringing multiple giveaways with them. Think SkinPen microneedling, IPL laser face treatments, Dermafacials, and more. You can also reserve a B12 injection ahead of time to take advantage while you’re there.

Everyone talks about the lunch sandwiches, but breakfast at Pioneers Meats is seriously underrated. It’s the kind of spot where you can grab a solid meal and enjoy it on the porch overlooking River Road Park.
Located at 312 River Rd in Boerne, it’s an easy stop whether you’re starting your day or just want a laid-back place to sit and eat.

HOW TO HELP THIS LOCAL BOERNE MOM & BUSINESSWOMAN

Many in this community know Dahlia Angelucci Martini. Right now, she’s in the ICU fighting a serious and rapidly progressing health battle.
As of the last update we saw, Dahlia was heavily sedated as doctors work to stabilize her. Her liver and kidneys have been impacted, she has begun dialysis, and has also started chemotherapy.
While she fights, her husband Raffaele (who is another very familiar and kind face in our community) is by her side caring for their three young boys and holding everything together. Their family business, Martini and Company, is also facing uncertainty during this incredibly difficult time.
If you’re able, please consider supporting their family.
Our friend, Jacques DuBose, has organized a donation page for her and her family to help in this difficult time. You can donate here if you wish to help out.

The Outdoor Family Fair brought a great crowd out to Main Plaza, with families enjoying activities, booths, and plenty of ways to spend time outside together.
