Fishing around Boerne is better than many people realize, and longtime local angler and co-founder of Couture Floors Jed Mazour helped us break down exactly where to go. From the Guadalupe River to local ponds and parks, there are several great places where beginners and experienced anglers can cast a line and enjoy the Hill Country outdoors. Jed shares tips on where to park, how to access the river, and what to look for when choosing the right fishing spot.

The guide also covers the best bait to use in local waters, how to get kids started fishing, and what time of year offers the best results. Whether you’re planning a peaceful morning on the river or introducing your kids to fishing for the first time, there are plenty of great opportunities around Boerne.

Looking for a fun night out with a creative twist? Martinis & Masterpieces is happening at Indulge Wine Bar (21 Truss Drive, Boerne) on Thursday, March 26 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, where you can sip, paint, and unwind all in one evening.

Led by Gina Marie, this guided painting class lets you create your own take-home canvas while enjoying a complimentary cocktail. No experience needed, just show up ready to relax and have a good time.

Bella Sera is officially in the middle of its move, and both the current and new locations are now closed as things come together. If you’ve noticed the sign coming down at the new spot, you’re not alone, but don’t worry, the move is still happening. A quick visit to the new location shows it’s nearly ready, with someone on-site saying it could be good to go in just a few days.

The new temporary location will be at 904 N Main Street, just a block over from the current spot where The Rocker used to be. This move will hold them over while their original building is torn down and replaced with a larger, updated restaurant.

Something unique is coming to Boerne. DeVino Cellars and our partners at Pioneers Meats are hosting a Taste of South Africa on March 28, bringing bold flavors and a one-of-a-kind tasting experience to the Hill Country.

This special pop-up will feature authentic South African favorites like biltong and droĂ«wors, along with curated South African wine tastings. It’s a great way to explore new flavors, discover wines you might not have tried before, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon with good company.

Back in late 2024, 16-year-old Mason DeLaune launched Vaquero Outdoors, a brand built around outdoor gear he actually wanted to wear. Fast forward to now, and his products are front and center inside Bechants Men’s, Boerne’s only dedicated men’s store.

Even better, the store has already placed reorders because the gear is selling so well. It’s a solid example of a local idea turning into something real, with support from a local business helping it grow.

If you’re looking for bluebonnets without driving far out of town, there’s a beautiful patch right at the Boerne Visitors Center. The blooms are already popping up and creating a perfect little Hill Country photo spot just steps from Main Street.
