It won’t be long before summer-style heat hits the Hill Country, and that means your electrical system will be working overtime. With AC units running nonstop and appliances pulling extra power, your breaker panel ends up carrying a heavy load.

That’s where Mr. Electric can help. Their team works with Boerne-area homeowners to prepare for the hotter months with services like whole-home surge protection, breaker panel upgrades, and electrical safety inspections. And if something does go wrong when the heat spikes, they’re ready with fast, reliable service.

Summer will be here before you know it, and Boerne offers a wide variety of camps to keep kids active, learning, and having fun. Options range from nature camps at the Cibolo Center for Conservation to sports, gymnastics, theatre, STEM, and art programs throughout the area. There are also full-day camps designed for working families as well as specialized camps focused on creativity, skill-building, and outdoor exploration.

This guide brings everything together in one place, with details on camp themes, locations, and registration information for programs across Boerne and the surrounding Hill Country. Whether your child wants to build with LEGO, perform on stage, explore nature, or stay active through sports, there’s something for every interest.

Health insurance costs are taking a bigger bite out of family budgets across Texas. Recent data shows families are spending an average of 10.9% of their household income — more than $11,000 a year — on employer-sponsored premiums and deductibles alone, and that doesn’t even include copays or other out-of-pocket costs.

If that sounds familiar, it may be time to explore other options. Boerne-based health insurance expert Penn Mallery helps families and small business owners find custom PPO plans designed around real needs and realistic budgets instead of one-size-fits-all coverage.

Boerne burger fans have something to celebrate. Nico’s Burgers are making a comeback at The Lounge at Valeria, bringing back the same favorites locals loved during their brief run next door during the pandemic. Starting today, The Lounge will be open for lunch Wednesday through Saturday from 11 AM to 4 PM, serving crowd favorites like the Oklahoma Onion Burger, Poblano Burger, bacon cheeseburger, crispy chicken sandwich, and Belgian fries, all made with grass-fed beef and house-made buns.

The big difference this time is that guests can enjoy full sit-down service inside The Lounge, paired with the bar’s relaxed cocktail atmosphere. It’s the same burgers people remember, now served in a spot where you can settle in and enjoy lunch with a drink.
