Honda of Boerne broke ground last year and is owned by the Pohanka Automotive Group, a family-owned company that’s been around since 1919. As we’ve reported, they’ve been working closely with the City of Boerne throughout the development process and are already hiring ahead of opening.

Boerne is a great place for outdoor adventures, but sometimes the weather just doesn’t cooperate. Usually that’s due to heat, but right now it’s the rain. And hey… who’s going to complain about rain in the middle of this drought?

Long before the luxury department store, Bechants resided at 194 S Main Street, there was a bank in its spot. The bank is long gone, but the vault is still inside the building.

The vault is open for viewing, and you can even go inside and shop!

With warmer weather arriving and Spring Break here, Hill Country Paddle Sports has officially opened its 2026 spring season at Boerne Lake. Rentals are available Friday through Sunday from 12–6 PM, making it easy to get outside and enjoy the lake again.

Students in the Samuel V. Champion High School Ag Mechanics and Welding program recently completed an 11-week pilot program designed to teach entrepreneurship in the skilled trades. The program, called Straight to Trades Ownership, is the first of its kind built specifically for vocational students.

The curriculum teaches students how to move beyond learning a trade and eventually build businesses of their own. The program wrapped with a pitch competition during Boerne ISD’s College, Career, and Military Readiness Week, where students presented business ideas to community leaders and industry professionals.

Back in 2014, the quiet town of Comfort experienced one of its most unusual days when future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees came to town and was named “mayor for a day.” The visit was part of a Wrangler promotion celebrating their “Advanced Comfort” jeans, temporarily renaming the town Advanced Comfort for the event.
