IF YOU SEE A LARGE TENT GOING UP DOWNTOWN… HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING

The buildings at 127, 129, and 133 S. Main Street (the current La Te Da and Pixie building, between the Boerne Chamber and Boerne Grill) are being structurally fumigated for drywood termites.
The work is being handled by Elite Exterminating, a company that has been treating structures in Boerne and the surrounding area for more than 35 years. They specialize in structural fumigation and are one of the few companies in Texas that perform this service statewide.
The project is fully permitted and approved by the Fire Marshal.
Portions of the sidewalk will be temporarily blocked, but detour signs will safely route pedestrians around the back of the building. The tent will be up for a few days, and everything should be back to normal by Friday afternoon.
No cause for concern — just routine treatment to protect a historic Main Street building.

Need a few kid-free hours without the guilt? The Little Gym of Boerne is hosting Parent Survival Night on Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 1433 S. Main St., giving kids ages 3 to 10 an evening packed with fun, movement, and adventure.
While the kids are safely supervised and burning off energy in a structured environment, you get a few hours to grab dinner, catch up on work, or simply enjoy some quiet. Admission is $40 per child, with a 10% discount for members. Spots are limited, so pre-registration is recommended.

THE CITY OF BOERNE IS GIVING AWAY FREE TREES NEXT WEEK

Mark your calendars for Friday, March 6th at 10 am. The City of Boerne is giving away 150 trees to residents who show their City of Boerne utility bill.
Types of trees they have: Cedar Elm, Bald Cypress, Chickasaw Plum , Eastern Redbud, Bur Oak, Cottonwood, Roughleaf Dogwood, Anacua, Rusty Blackhaw. and Box Elder.
Trees are available on a first come, first serve basis. Limit one per person. And... well, we'd imagine there will be a line.
The giveaway is in the green space between city hall and the library. Good luck, y'all!

You may have already seen construction taking shape along I-10, and now it’s official. Honda of Boerne is joining The Boerne Life as a partner as they work toward a summer 2026 opening.
Honda of Boerne broke ground last year and is owned by the Pohanka Automotive Group, a family-owned company that’s been around since 1919. As we’ve reported, they’ve been working closely with the City of Boerne throughout the development process and are already hiring ahead of opening.
We’ll be sharing occasional updates as construction continues and as they build their team locally.

IS THIS THE SKINNIEST BUILDING IN TEXAS?

Right on Main Street in Boerne, tucked between storefronts, is Silver Queen... and the building is only about 10 feet wide.
It was actually built inside what used to be an alleyway, later converted into a long, narrow retail space. What looks small from the outside stretches back into a deep, charming shop filled with estate, costume, and antique jewelry, glassware, fine art, and antique furniture.
We can’t verify that it’s the skinniest building in Texas, but based on some quick research, we feel fairly confident saying it’s definitely at least ONE of the most narrow commercial structures in the state.
Anyway, a cool little downtown quirk. Go visit the business and check it out.

The Boys & Girls Club of Boerne is hosting its 20th Annual Golf Fundraiser on Friday, April 24 at The Buckhorn Golf Course. This long-running event helps provide the financial resources needed for the Club to serve as many children as possible in a safe, supportive environment.
