🆘 EXTREME COLD WARNING IN EFFECT
Dangerously Cold Wind Chills + Strong Winds

The bitter cold has arrived. The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Warning for Kendall County, in effect until noon Thursday.
Wind chills will drop as low as 1°F.
Gusty north winds (20-25 mph, up to 40 mph) will make it feel even colder.
Frostbite can occur in less than 30 minutes on exposed skin.
Stay safe & be prepared:
✅ Limit time outdoors – Stay inside if possible… we will be!
✅ Protect your pipes – And open your cabinets to keep those pipes warm.
✅ Bring pets inside – If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for them!
✅ Check on elderly neighbors – Make sure they have heat.
✅ Secure outdoor objects – Strong winds could cause damage.

WHEN WAS THE COLDEST DAY EVER IN BOERNE? 🤔
Hint: Not Today!

Fun Fact: Back in 1949 on January 31, Boerne hit a record-breaking low of -4°F, marking the coldest day in our town's history. That same Arctic blast blanketed the Hill Country in snow and sent temperatures plunging across Texas.
Pictured above is Boerne in the midst of that historic freeze—a reminder of the rare times winter leaves a lasting mark on our town.
