THE KRONKOSKY STATE NATURAL AREA TAKING SHAPE ALONG HIGHWAY 46

Boerne’s future state natural area is no longer just a long-term plan. Visible construction, new signage, and steady progress along Highway 46 show that the Albert & Bessie Kronkosky State Natural Area is moving closer to opening later this year.
We talked to Texas Parks and Wildlife Superintendent James Rice and got the latest updates.

Love is in the air, and Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Skip the predictable gifts and surprise someone special with bold, flavor-packed favorites that actually get remembered. From handcrafted boerewors to rich, savory biltong, these are the kinds of treats that bring real smiles to the table.
Whether you’re building a charcuterie board, planning a cozy night in, or gifting something a little different this year, make it meaningful and mouthwatering.
It’s also a great place to grab international chocolates and other cool presents. Stop by Pioneers Meats and pick up something they’ll truly love. Located at 312 River Rd.

There’s a reason behind this weekend’s big $1 draft beer event. Cypress Grille is closing its bar area and returning to its original restaurant footprint toward the back of the building.
The new entrance will be located on the side, bringing the space back to its original layout from decades ago. The restaurant will remain open and continue serving bottled beer, wine, and the same menu many locals know well. The former bar space is expected to transition into retail, with more details to come.

The project is about 70% complete, but this new connector should ease one of the busiest stretches near town. If you’ve driven it already, you know one thing for sure — it’s high. Learn more
