IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Good morning, Boerne. Real quick before I forget, the answer to “Were Were We Wednesday” yesterday was driving up towards the library right next to Jefferson Bank. If you head up towards the library and drive around the parking lot, they have a bunch of maples that look beautiful in the fall! Okay, let’s see what we have for you today.

  • Pioneer Meats & International Deli is now open

  • 9 restaurants open on Thanksgiving (no cooking required!)

  • A new Predator-themed bar opens today

  • A look at the Northern Lights in Boerne

And a whole lot more. Let’s get into it!

PIONEER MEATS & INTERNATIONAL DELI IS OFFICIALLY OPEN

Introducing our newest partners, Pioneer Meats & International Deli. We reported they put up a sign a couple weeks ago, but never imagined how cool this spot would be. They have a selection of dried South African meats, an international deli with all sorts of delicious sandwiches, and meat pies and sausage rolls to go (you HAVE to try the sausage rolls).

Along with all of that, they also have a shop with everything from European candies to authentic pasta imported from Italy to knickknacks created by South African street vendors.

This truly is something completely new and different for Boerne, and we love it (we’ve already eaten there three times during soft opening
. could be a problem for us).

Go visit them at 306 River Rd, right next to Pinchy’s and tell them The Boerne Life sent you! Follow them on Facebook to learn more.

Water Restrictions: Stage 2

Boerne residents got a surprise light show this week as the Northern Lights danced across the Hill Country sky! After posting a quick photo callout, our page was flooded with over 100 stunning shots from around town—proof that even Texas got a little taste of the aurora magic.

If you missed it, don’t worry, there’s still a chance to catch them again tonight. Grab your camera, head outside, and join the fun! See the community photos here.

BOERNE HISTORY ON DISPLAY

Next time you visit the Patrick Heath Public Library in downtown Boerne, take a moment to notice the windmill and water tower on the grounds. These aren’t just decorative—they came from the Sultenfuss-Ammann Ranch, the second oldest ranch in Kendall County, which was once part of George Kendall’s original ranch.

Bill and Nancy Sultenfuss donated them in 2013, and The Bookshop was renamed in honor of their gift. It’s a piece of living history right outside the library doors at 451 North Main Street.
