Halloween fun is already getting underway around Boerne, with events happening throughout October. Honda of Boerne is getting closer to opening its doors, with construction progressing and the parking lot already paved. As the new dealership takes shape, the team is hiring for positions across several departments to prepare for its November launch.

Owned by the family-run Pohanka Automotive Group, which has been in business since 1919, Honda of Boerne is also building local connections and supporting the community. Now’s the time to explore opportunities and become part of the team before opening day.

SEE WHAT COULD BE COMING TO KENDALL COUNTY’S NEW RIVER PARK

Kendall County is exploring a grant opportunity that could help fund more substantial improvements to the 321-acre Guadalupe River Ranch property purchased earlier this year. The county is also preparing to seek proposals for a conceptual development plan to help shape the property's future.

The vision still includes the Blue Trail, which would eventually connect Guadalupe River Ranch to Kreutzberg Canyon Natural Area by water. However, pursuing the grant could delay access to the trail and lower portion of the property until summer 2027.

The 3rd Annual Das Festival of Kendall Fundraising Golf Tournament is coming to The Buckhorn Golf Course in Comfort on October 22, with registration at 11:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

KNOW THE RULES UNDER BOERNE’S STAGE 2 WATER RESTRICTIONS

Boerne remains under Stage 2 water restrictions despite recent rainfall. Residential and commercial Boerne Utilities customers, including reclaimed water users, are limited to watering outdoors one day per week based on their street address.

Watering is allowed from 7–11 AM and 7–11 PM on your assigned day, with no weekend watering. Hand watering with a hose or bucket is allowed anytime, and simple steps like fixing leaks, shortening showers, and choosing native plants can help conserve water.

BOERNE’S WATERWORKS TERRACE COULD GET A MAJOR NEW LOOK

Waterworks Terrace, the green space across from Main Plaza, could see major improvements in the coming years. Once home to a public swimming pool, the space has since been used for community events and other activities.

Boerne’s newly approved 2027 budget includes plans to explore updates such as new seating areas, interactive features, open lawn space, and better connections to Main Plaza. Nothing is finalized yet, and the city plans to gather more public input in 2027 before settling on a design.
