IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Good morning, Boerne. Looks like our rain chances start to go up (a little) today, and next week the first legit cool front should set in. But before all that happens, we have a Thursday newsletter to read! Here’s what we have for you today:

  • The guide to Halloween fun… for grown ups!

  • Who wants to buy Random Beer Garden with us?

  • New survey shows Boerne as top 5 suburb in all of the US

  • Hamby’s completes expansion and renovations

And a whole lot more. Let’s get into it!

— Chris

Hunters, this is your chance to experience one of the Hill Country’s most exciting traditions — Open Line Driven Shoots at Joshua Creek Ranch. This Saturday’s shoot features both mallards and pheasant, combining world-class upland bird hunting with the stunning scenery of Boerne’s backcountry.

Everywhere you turn, there’s a pumpkin patch, a kids’ costume contest, trunk-or-treat, or a family-friendly festival. We get it. Boerne is a family-first town. But what if you want a little less trick-or-treating and a little more adult fun?

We put together a guide with a bunch of fun events for grown ups, starting with Spooky Ladies Night at DeVino Cellars tonight! Click to see them all, and bookmark because we’ll add more events as they become available.

BOERNE RANKS AS A TOP 5 U.S. SUBURB 🏡

Boerne is officially one of America’s most sought-after suburbs, ranking #4 in the nation and #1 in Texas, according to a new study by MoveBuddha.

The report looked at home values and moving trends across 100 metro areas, praising Boerne for its small-town charm, historic character, and thriving mix of restaurants, shops, and local businesses. With ~23,000 residents and more newcomers on the way, our town continues to make a big impression on the national stage.

RANDOM BEER GARDEN PROPERTY HITS THE MARKET

If you’ve been around Boerne long enough, you probably have a memory (or a few) from Random Beer Garden, the laid-back spot by the lake with food trucks, lawn games, a giant bouncy pillow, and the biggest beer selection in town (a crown now taken by our friends at 28 Songs Brewhouse).

Before COVID, Random was the weekend family hangout. The spot briefly reopened in 2024 but struggled to recapture the magic, then planned another comeback this past spring, but those plans never quite came to life.

Now, the property at 11 Upper Cibolo Creek Road is officially up for sale. The ~7-acre site backs right up to Boerne Lake and includes a remodeled historic home, a spacious beer garden with massive tap capacity, kids’ area, and multiple outbuildings, perfect for a future restaurant, brewery, or event venue.

It’s a place packed with memories, and maybe a chance for someone new to bring that magic back. See the listing on LoopNet.

Looking for a fun family outing? Head to The Science Mill in Johnson City for STEM in the Wild, a new interactive exhibit exploring how nature inspires real-world innovation.

Kids can jump into hands-on experiments, learn about animal adaptations, and even create their own wildlife cast in a special workshop. With activities like Camo Chameleon, Off the Food Chain, and Fur Real: Animal ID, it’s the perfect mix of science and adventure for all ages.
